Werner Filipich was born in Austria in 1943, arriving in Australia in 1950. He is maily self-taught, and has held many sell-out solo shows at mainstream Australian galleries including the Young Masters Gallery, Wiregrass Gallery, Greythorn Gallery and George Styles Gallery. Has also participated in a number of group shows.
Awards include the Toongabbie Open; City Of Parramatta; Castle Hill.
Has been elected an honorary fellow of the Austrlain Insttute of History and The Arts (an award for achieving success without formal training.) Werner represented NSW for five major works to tour Germany sponsored by Qantas.
Represented: Numerous Australian and overseas collections.
