Geoff LA GERCHE

Geoff La Gerche was born in Sale and studied at Caulfield Technical College and The Royal College Of Art, London.
Since 1963 La Gerche has held at least 35 solo exhibitions of paintings and prints at mainstream galleries throughout Australia. He has also participated in as many group exhibitions, including the Australian printmakers travelling exhibition to the USA.
Prizes and awards include: Warrnambool Print Prize; Darnell de Gruchy Invitation Purchase Prize; Print Council of Australia Patron Print; Alice Prize; Gold Coast City Art Prize; Rockhampton Art Prize; Benalla City Art Gallery Acquisition Prize; Toowoomba – Peter Stuyvesant Trust Prize; Maitland Prize; Artist in Residence, Darwin Community College; Visual Arts Board Grant; Mitchelton Print Prize; Western Mining Acquisitive Art Prize.
Commissions include: Coopers and Lybrand, Perth; Deighton Corporation, Perth; Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, Perth; Melbourne university, Portrait of Graeme Allen.
