Max MIDDLETON

Duncan Max Middleton is a very well collected painter of traditional landscapes, typically using a high-key palette which gives his paintings an airy, sunlit quality.
Middleton studied at the National gallery School under Septimus Power (1939-1944), Heatherley’s in London (1951), and the School Of Fine Art, Florence (1952). Taught alongside Septimus power 1945-1950, conducted his own classes 1954-1968, and undertook overseas painting trips. A survey of his works The Art Of Max Middleton was launched at the Adelaide Festival of Arts in 1982.
His works are widely collected and represented in numerous regional, private and overseas collections.
